Recently Brian and I watched an amazing documentary called Blood Road. Blood Road follows the journey of ultra-endurance mountain bike athlete Rebecca Rusch and her Vietnamese riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the dense jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Their goal: to reach the crash site and final resting place of Rebecca’s father, a U.S. Air Force pilot shot down over Laos some 40 years earlier.
Such an inspiring documentary of strength and determination. Tons of planning involved to get to their destination. A must watch documentary! www.bloodroadfilm.com.
Our Next Journey – 2 Dads
Both our Dad’s passed away many years ago. Coincidentally they were from the Mid West. Brian’s Dad was from Illinois and my Dad was from Missouri – about 160 miles apart from each other. We were so inspired by this documentary that we are planning a ride from Moline, Illinois to Hannibal, Missouri in spirit of our Dads. Our plan is to ride about 50 miles a day. We will really get to see the area where they both grew up. We are working on the plan now for a years time. Looking forward to this exciting adventure.
